7 Tips to Keep Your Wedding Day Stress Free

The guest list has been finalized. The signature drink has been chosen. You’ve found the perfect dress for your perfect day to marry your perfect person. But you still worry about the “what if’s” which puts a damper on enjoying your big day. I’ve been there, and I get it! I want to make sure that my brides have a stress free day when they say “I do!” So with the help of my favorite gals, Jamie at The Veil Bridal Concierge, Brianne from Marquette Ave Events and Jordan with Emily Jordan Events — I’ve created a list of tips to help you enjoy a stress free wedding day!

1. The Wedding Planner

Planning a wedding is a lot of work! Between juggling work and real life, it can be tough to organize such a huge event. Having a wedding planner can elevate a lot of stress that comes with planning your big day. And while having someone helping you from the get-go is great, having someone there day of is so important! Your planner will be the go-to for vendor questions, will handle any issues that may arise and will keep everyone on schedule!  Whether you have a planner from the beginning or a coordinator just for the day, having someone you trust and feel comfortable with will really help you to just sit back, relax and enjoy your wedding day.

2. Timing is Everything

Although you’ve spent months putting this day together, there are only a few short hours in which everything will unfold. To ensure that you hit all the high notes and don’t miss a beat, have a schedule in place for the day that will keep everything (and everyone) on task. Share the schedule with your planner, coordinator, vendors and bridal party to ensure everyone is on the same page. Put your best lady in charge of keeping everyone on time so you can just soak in all the excitement!

3. Hair and Makeup Trial

The last thing you want on your wedding day is a surprise in the hair and makeup department! Ask your stylists to do a test run before the big day. This will help you both feel confidant about the look you are trying to achieve on your wedding day. Knowing exactly what you want and having already created that look for you will also cut down on time spent in the hair and makeup chair (which leaves more time for champagne!)

4. Something Just for You!

You might be experiencing those day-of jitters already, so how can you make sure you’re not to stressed out to enjoy it all? There can be a lot of pressure and excitement packed into just a few hours so it’s important that you are taking care of yourself. Chose an activity to do just for you. It can be as simple as taking a walk with your fur baby that morning, or maybe booking Wedding Day Zen for a yoga session for you and your bridesmaids! The important thing is to choose something that you know will help keep you balanced and energized for the rest of your day.

5. Eat!

This may sound simple, but don’t forget to eat! Have your planner bring in food for you and your girls while you’re getting ready. It’s important to keep your energy up during the day since you’ll be dancing the night away!  Make sure they don’t forget the bubbly! (Can you tell we like champagne?)

6. The Dress Squad

Have at least 2 people who will know how to bustle your dress. This means that they will either need to come with you to your last fitting, or watch a video that was taken during your alteration of the dress being bustled. Bustles can be tricky, but knowing that you have a solid team to get the job done will make for a stress free first dance.

7. Hit it, DJ!

Create a playlist that will get you pumped up for your big day! Pick songs that are meaningful to you and your fiancé as well as some fun jams that you know the girls will love! You can even share the playlist and ask your bridesmaids to add their favorite songs! As simple as it may be, having a wedding day playlist is something you can always go back and listen to and remember the perfect day you had with your best friends.
