Moving into the middle of wedding season, I have to take stock of all the fabulous weddings I’ve been blessed to be a part of lately⏤from traveling adventures to Cancun and Colorado, to the elegant ballroom weddings at Chateau Elan and The Biltmore Ballroom in Atlanta. I thought I had really seen it all, and then came Chris and Irene.
Chris and Irene wed at the Swan House which is part of the Atlanta History Center. If you’re a native Atlantan, or even a lover of Georgia History, you know that the Swan House is quite the show stopper for Atlanta events. For photographer, a venue like the Swan House is a dream come true. The beauty and history that encase the property are truly magical. Adding a couple like Chris and Irene who have a beautiful history of their own was really the cherry on top!
Chris and Irene met at the Amsterdam International Airport of all places. Chris spotted Irene while she was working on her laptop, and Irene noticed he had a charger that she needed. After some playful banter, Irene also noticed Chris had lovely eyes and was quite the gentleman. After a bit of conversation, Chris saw that besides Irene’s beauty, she had a love for the Lord, something he had prayed for in a partner.
After a solid friendship was formed, at the same spot where they met, Chris promised Irene that he would love and protect her always. A year later, at their hometown airport, Chris dropped down on one knee and asked Irene if she would be his wife. Luckily for him, she said yes!
Irene and her bridal party got ready at The Grand Hyatt Hotel in Buckhead. The view from 22 floors up was not bad at all!
Once these two saw each other, the whole world seemed to just melt away!
When asked to describe Irene, Chris replied, “Irene is graceful, caring, faithful and beautiful.”
When asked to describe Chris, Irene said, “Christopher is my answered prayer. He is my protector and my sunshine.”
Irene was surrounded by love and support all day. It was clear how much she loved and was loved by the women in her life.
Architectural details. There was something new around every corner.
Special moments while vowing each other their forevers.
All the joy!
Perfect reception details for their guests to enjoy.
Such fun toasts from Chris and Irene’s loved ones!
From a chance meeting at an airport in another country, to a friendship that blossomed into a forever love. Cheers to forever, you two. Dance the years away with each other and love with the joy you bring to the world!
XOXO,
-Rebecca
