Life is beautiful. Today, I get to let you peak into the lives of April and Brandon whose love story started in August of 2007. Since dating, they have acquired a dog, Bo, gotten married and moved in together at Brandon’s beautiful home in Bonaire. While April’s favorite part of her new home is their nice comfy living room, Brandon’s favorite thing is that April and Bo now live with him . Leave it to the man to be sappy They love playing with their dog, cooking with each other, and making decisions as a couple.

There is just something so special about marriage…being with your best friend when you go to bed and when you wake up. I am so happy that I got the opportunity to document these precious memories during their first year of marriage.

When Alma got to the question on her photography Q&A that asked her what her three wedding words were, she wrote, “Long time coming! LOL”. Alma and Von have waited patiently for this celebration with friends and family that has been in the works for over two years! Their day could not have been more perfect. Gorgeous weather, a beautiful venue and loads of love made for an unforgettable wedding day. One thing that separates Alma and Von’s wedding from most others I’ve shot were the fun games during the reception. You will quickly be able to tell through the photos that everyone had a blast! I am so happy that I had the opportunity to work with such beautiful people from the inside out! These two are a perfect match for each other and I can’t wait to watch their story unfold from here

Brittany & Seth | Plantation Farms Wedding Photography

This past weekend I had the honor of documenting Brittany & Seth’s wedding at Plantation farms. My dear friend and fellow photographer, Chloe, joined me to capture all of the wedding day festivities that both Seth and Brittany had waited so long to enjoy! These two adorable people have been in love for a LONG time. Just months after they began dating, they knew they were meant to be husband and wife. Even through a move, a long-distance-relationship, and many airline tickets — their love only grew stronger. This wedding marks the beginning of a life for these two where the word “goodbye” no longer exists in their vocabulary. Friends and family came from all over the country to celebrate this AMAZING marriage of two beautiful people — inside and out! Brandi & Josh | Savannah Wedding Photography

Two years ago I was photographing Trista and Jonny’s wedding on a gorgeous spring day at the Houston Lake country club. I happened to see some of their friends, Brandi and Josh, flirting at a table by the window and quickly snapped a photo. Little did I know that they would contact me later asking me to be their wedding photographer. I was beyond excited, and a couple of days ago, Leigh and I arrived at the Andaz hotel in downtown Savannah to begin documenting their day.

The biggest compliment I could give Brandi and Josh is that they lived and loved their wedding day. These two radiate with such a beautiful light that everyone who comes in contact with them immediately falls in love with their energy — including Leigh and I who crashed their reception for an hour and a half after our coverage had already ended Enjoy, everyone, one of the happiest celebrations of love Leigh and I have ever witnessed!

Maegan & David | Hay House Bridal Session

I got a text message today from one of my past {brides} and fellow photographer asking me a question about a bridal picture. After a few minutes of conversation — I came to realize that I had never blogged her GORGEOUS pre-wedding-renewal bridal session! It seemed appropriate that this conversation happened now — because it was about this time last year when the cherry blossoms were blooming and we documented Maegan and her husband at the venue that they would be renewing their wedding vows a couple months later. The Hay House in Macon provided a stunning backdrop to Maegan’s {pink blush} gown. And the cherry blossoms across the street on Coleman Hill were glorious that day! Enjoy this look back at a session of two beautiful people still very much in love — after 16 years of marriage!

Kara & Lou | Engagement at Pineola Farms

A couple of months ago I got a facebook message from a familiar face asking about my September wedding availability. Kara and I grew up in the same church and school and it is alway so neat to have the opportunity to work with someone who you know! When she and her fiancé arrived at my home and I saw her for the first time in what seems like forever, I said — “Oh my goodness! You look just like you did when I last saw you — just the grown up version” :)

It was so much fun meeting and getting to know Lou and to see how he and Kara interacted with each other! They will be getting married this September and it is unbelievably evident how excited they are to begin this new chapter in their lives! We photographed their engagement photos at Pineola Farms in Fort Valley on the most perfect Saturday afternoon during Easter weekend. We were blessed with a gorgeous meadow of yellow flowers — and I was beyond excited when I got the two of them out in it!!! I hope you are able to feel the love and {pre-wedding} excitement from these two beautiful people as they enjoy this season of being engaged!

Little Moments. Big Love.

Since I photographed Chris and Chaley’s wedding, they have become dear friends of mine — and little Kinley Paxton was added to the mix about four months ago. She has been a major source of baby fever because she is absolutely adorable and such a happy baby Chris is the media guy at my church, Southside Baptist in Warner Robins, and I asked if we could do some trade work - a promo video for my photography business in exchange for some family photos.

He agreed and we set the date. Unfortunately when you photograph outside, the weather plays a huge part in the outcome of your photos. Our first date was scheduled after that big monsoon came through a couple of weeks ago. We canceled so we wouldn’t have to be on soggy ground. Then, we had a date set for Tuesday of this week. Do you guys remember how cold it was on Tuesday??? I had to call and cancel my location with a local vendor because we just couldn’t handle the idea of little Kinley being in the harsh wind and cold. Not to mention, Chaley had bought short-sleeved, spring outfits for their shoot.

So we decided — instead of trying to reschedule AGAIN, we would do the shoot in their home. Despite Chaley’s fears of not having a beautiful enough home for photographs, after a little convincing, she decided to trust me. :) Real life is so beautiful to me. And that is what I focused on during my time with them.

Love | A Maternity Session at Pineola Farms

My husband and I are on the brink of preparing for a future with children. So when one of my former bride’s contacted me about doing some maternity photos for her — I may have been more excited than she was. :) Although she knew that I only promote wedding related photography, she knew it wouldn’t hurt to ask — and it didn’t. My photography calendar was rather empty awaiting the cold months to slip away and the warm spring wedding weather to come. We set a date and enjoyed an AMAZING afternoon at Pineola Farms photographing Angela, her husband Marderick, and their little gift — Erik.

A & M — I am SO EXCITED for you to meet your little boy in just a couple of months!!!! You both are the perfect match and filled with even more love for each other than when I photographed you on your wedding day! I am so thrilled for the future ahead of you and know that you will cherish each moment with the love and joy that God has given you both!

Alma & Von | Downtown Macon, Georgia

Every year it happens. The “winter blues” creep in on me. They are the coldest months of the year when my camera spends more time collecting dust than capturing memories. I welcome the first month and a half as a much needed break from the fall happenings. However, after living in my PJ’s and updating a blog and Facebook page with photos from warmer days of the past, I start to ache for new and current photographic inspiration.

I contacted some previous clients that I LOVED behind my camera and asked if they would be willing to be involved in a {bring-my-love-of-photography-back-to-life} shoot They happily agreed and the vision for this shoot started. Alma came to my home one night and tried on potential dresses for their shoot and we were sold with the hot pink one. I swear it was made for her. Then I contacted Jennifer Horton and she became excited about doing Alma’s makeup! My friend Chris Clark agreed to take behind the scenes video of this session for an upcoming promo video {which I can’t WAIT to share upon completion}. And there it was — the first session I’ve ever done with outside vendor involvement, and I LOVED IT! It is amazing to have a creative team equally excited with you about a project dreamed up simply to recover from those dreaded winter blues.

Thanks, Alma & Von, for being willing to give of your time to make this shoot amazing!!! I can not wait to document your wedding NEXT MONTH!!!

A lot of times, the people who end up with the least amount of photos of themselves are — you guessed it — photographers. Last weekend, Noi, Chloe and I set out to change that as well as to get some no-pressure practice behind our cameras at a beautiful private tree farm in Monroe, GA.
