A December wedding in a cabin on the lake in the mountains… The immediate thoughts that entered my head after Barbara told me about her upcoming wedding location were thoughts of a warm and intimate wedding venue with glistening snow flakes outside. Of course, every photographer envisions the potential of every situation, and to my sheer excitement, I had the pleasure of recording Roger and Barbara’s wedding day just as I had hoped for! Guests were welcomed into a warm, cozy and intimate setting to celebrate these two coming together. Before the guests arrived, however, the bride and groom decided to have a first look for a number of reasons… I’ll stop talking for a second now and let you get a look into what I was able to witness!
Barbara’s older sister, Virginia, beautifully crafted the bridesmaid’s headbands, bouquets, and the Bridal bouquet.
The photo on Barbara’s bouquet is of her and her other older sister, Janet, who tragically passed away two years ago in a car accident. Despite my extreme sadness after learning of her death, I seemed to sense that Barbara and her friends and family knew that she was there with them in spirit.
These next few images are from the bride and groom’s first look, followed by some romantic portraits.
Here are a few images of the bridal party keeping it together even though they were all freezing outside
I just LOVED her cupcake cake
It’s about that time now… wedding time
Congratulations, Roger and Barbara Powell! Enjoy Cancun!
